Our Professor Israel Gomes

                                                                           

Israel is the Head Coach of Muay Thai and BJJ at AKB.

Born in Curitiba, South Brazil, he is a highly skilled and dedicated martial artist with a passion for Capoeira, Taekwondo, Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu. Extensive experience training under best instructors and working in Chute Boxe over 20 years he was the head coach at location Jardim Shaffer and Batel gyms in Brazil. He demonstrated leadership as a co-founder of the "Killer Bees" team and is ranked as a black belt in Jiu Jitsu from Carlos Lima (Carlson Gracie Sr) and a 5th-degree black belt in Jiu Jitsu under Hélio Soneca.

Israel is a recognized Taekwondo master under George Bell and a Kru Master in Muay Thai under the tutelage of Grand Master Rudimar Fedrigo. He is currently based in Melbourne, FL, where he co-owns AKB HQ with his wife, Vladena Gomes.

Experience:

- Capoeira and Taekwondo training since the age of 9, developing exceptional agility and discipline.

- Trained in Muay Thai at Chute Boxe Academy under the mentorship of Grand Master Rudimar Fedrigo.

- Practiced Jiu Jitsu under Gurgel Rillion Gracie and Carlos Lima works with UFC champion Anderson Silva and Rodrigo Vidal Co-founded and trained with the highly regarded "Killer Bees" team, fostering teamwork and excellence.

- Relocated to the USA in 2004, gaining valuable experience working at different gyms.

- Served as an instructor at Fort Campbell, Tennessee, from 2014 to 2018, imparting martial arts combat training knowledge on military base in Clarksville Tennessee

- Established AKB HQ in Melbourne, FL, a thriving martial arts academy catering to passionate individuals seeking to enhance their skills."

- Collaborating with his wife Vladena Gomes providing a supportive and empowering training environment.

- Proud parent of Valentina and Baby Banyan, nurturing the next generation of martial artists.
